These symptoms involve alertness, thinking, dizziness, smell and taste, feelings, and behavior.
R40 separates sleepiness, stupor, coma, persistent vegetative state, and temporary changes in awareness. R41 separates disorientation, types of memory loss, and other changes in thinking or awareness. R42 identifies dizziness, which can mean feeling spatially disoriented, sensing motion around you, or feeling lightheaded.
R43 separates changes in smell from changes in taste. R44 separates auditory, visual, other, and unspecified hallucinations. R45 groups symptoms involving feelings, such as nervousness, unhappiness, and anger. R46 groups signs involving appearance and behavior, such as poor personal hygiene, unusual appearance, and suspiciousness.
