The FY 2026 release deletes 16 diagnosis codes across 8 chapters. Deletions are routine code set maintenance, usually clearing the way for more specific replacement codes.
Can I still bill a deleted code?
Only for dates of service before October 1, 2025. From that date forward, claims using a deleted code will be rejected, so any deleted code in your favorites, encounter forms, or EHR shortcuts needs to be remapped to its replacement.
