About the G80–G83 Code Range
Cerebral palsy is a group of movement disorders caused by brain injuries from before birth, around birth, or early childhood. These disorders do not progress. This block also includes other forms of paralysis and partial paralysis.
G80 separates cerebral palsy into spastic, athetoid, ataxic, other, and unspecified forms. Its spastic subdivisions distinguish quadriplegic, diplegic, and hemiplegic forms. G81 covers hemiplegia and hemiparesis, with subdivisions for flaccid, spastic, and unspecified hemiplegia. G82 distinguishes paraplegia from quadriplegia and includes their partial-paralysis forms.
