These codes describe events involving drowning, firearms, heat, objects, falls and vehicles when the event’s intent is undetermined.
The categories separate events by what happened. Y21 covers drowning and submersion, with subdivisions for the setting and whether a fall into a bathtub or pool occurred. Y22, Y23 and Y24 distinguish handgun, larger firearm, and other or unspecified firearm discharge. Their subdivisions identify firearm types where listed.
