About the X2 Body System
These New Technology codes cover procedures involving the heart, its valves and chambers, and named arteries and veins. The body parts include the aorta, carotid arteries, pulmonary arteries, and veins in the arms and legs.
The tables include widening or partly closing a vessel opening, rerouting its contents, and removing solid matter from a body part. Other procedures divide or inspect a body part, replace or reinforce part of it, or insert an appliance that supports a body function. Assistance takes over part of a body function outside the body.
