These injuries affect the ankle, foot, or toes. They include surface injuries, open wounds, fractures, joint injuries, crushing injuries, and traumatic amputations.
S90 and S91 separate surface injuries from open wounds, then distinguish the injured site and whether a toe’s nail is damaged. S92 divides foot and toe fractures by bone, while S93 separates joint displacements from sprains by site. S94, S95, and S96 distinguish injuries to nerves, blood vessels, and muscles or tendons. S97 divides crushing injuries by site, and S98 divides traumatic amputations by level or toes involved.
