About Chapter 7
Eye diseases affect the eyeball, vision, and nearby structures such as the eyelids, tear system, and eye socket.
The blocks separate disorders by the affected part. They begin with the eyelids and nearby structures, then distinguish the eye’s surface, iris, focusing structures, lens, retina, and other internal parts. Separate blocks cover glaucoma, the optic nerve and visual pathways, eye muscle and focusing disorders, visual disturbances, and blindness. The remaining blocks cover other eye disorders and complications during or after procedures.
For some conditions, the seventh character adds detail. It distinguishes glaucoma stage, retinal vein occlusion status, and the stage or activity of dry and wet macular degeneration.
